Release the tension on the drive belt and slip the belt off of the pulley. Then disconnect the negative battery terminal from the battery and unplug/disconnect any electrical leads to the alternator. Then loosen and remove the hardware holding the alternator in place (may also loosen other components; keep track of what bolt comes from what hole). Once out, reverse the procedure double checking for tightness and electrical connections and then start the car. It may be helpful to take pictures with your phone as you do the disassembly. They may come in handy when putting the new one into position. Good luck.
