MY 65 FASTBACK 289 HAS A CAPACITOR JUST UNDER THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR. WHAT DOES IT DO, WHAT IS IT'S SIZE, WHERE CAN I GET ONE?

There are several types of capacitors. The radio capacitor is a filter capacitor that absorbs unwanted radio frequency interference. Here is a site that explains different types of capacitors: http://www.radio-electronics.com/info/data/capacitor/capacitor_types.php Once you figure out which type of capacitor you want to purchase you can buy one from most auto part shops online.
