I can hold a gas rag over the intake and it will run once gas is gone it will die want start any other way

there is a schrader valve on fuel rail, push it in and see if gas squirts out you could have a plugged fuel filter or bad fuel pump the inertia switch could be tripped,check the basics,hope this helps
