94 Dakota will not blow hot air

Asked by Billy Jan 19, 2016 at 03:03 PM about the 1994 Dodge Dakota SLT LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently put a new water pump on my 94 Dakota. It was
not overheating and blew plenty of hot air. I changed it
cause it was loose and leaking coolant.  Anyways now it
only blows warm ait out the floor and vents. Its running
temp is normal and where its always been.

Ive been reading up on backflushing the system and
heatrr core. But i dont think thats the issue since the
antifreeze that came out when i changed water pump was
clean.

Any suggestions??

Does your vehicle have the cap on over flow tank to add anti freeze ? If so bleed air from system like this. Remove cap add anti freeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle let idle and reach operating temp coolent will start to fill up over flow tank this is normal once t- stat starts to open anti freeze level will drop in over flow tank fill with anti freeze back to full mark then put cap back on. All air will be removed from system.
