Attaching medal rod inside car door

Asked by GuruDZYLSJ Nov 20, 2023 at 11:26 AM about the 2013 Toyota Highlander AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car door does not work from the outside, but does work on the inside.
When taking the door apart I noticed the metal rod attaching the door handle
to the latch had come off.  I have been trying to feel around to see where
they reattach, but I cannot figure it out.  I have been looking for a video or a
diagram to help but I cannot find anything.

Any support that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

You could get a repair manual that shows bodywork. Maybe the Ford dealer will show you a page in his book and you might even be able to copy it. Or have a mechanic or body shop just connect it for you.

One end connects to the door handle and the other end connects to the latch. You also need the retaining clips to hold it on at both ends to make sure it doesn't fall off again. Hope that helps! Jim
