What else could make a 2003 ford escape overheat?

I've already replaced the thermostat and water
pump on my 2003 ford escape, but it is still
overheating,  what else could be the cause?

A dirty or plugged up radiator. Try having it flushed out but you may need to replace it. Tennis has other suggestions that you should try.

There is a heater control valve that can cause it to run hot

Did you figure it out? I have same car same problem. Replace the radiator.waterpump.thermostat.hoses.had it burped 5 times.replaced caps. They did the die test on head gasket. Compression check. I'm DOOOONE. I GET IT BACK AND BAM ITS GOOD FOR A DAY . SOMETIMES AN HOUR ONCE A MONTH. But it keeps overheating. Hello.
