Ticking ticking on front end

Asked by Nsdm2386 Aug 15, 2018 at 11:32 AM about the 2013 Ford F-150 XLT LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Whenever I'm coming to a stop I hear a ticking
noise that sounds like it's coming from the front
end on the right side. I took it to a Ford dealership
and told them about the problem and they said my
drive shaft needed to be lubed. After leaving the
dealership I still hear the knocking and Ticking and
it continued for the next two weeks until I took it to
another automotive shop and they said that
everything on the front end looked tight they said it
wasn't a ball joint they said it wasn't coming from
the brakes and that they didn't know why it was
ticking. The grease the ball joints and the
suspension and after I left the automotive shop the
ticking still occurred. What is going on with my
truck?

My friend had the some problem. The dealer could find it. They checked the front end and it was fine. They checked the brakes and it was fine. This ticking noise was driving him crazy so finally he took it to this old wise man with a case of beer and old wise man told him to change the wheel bearings. Guess what, problem solved. Bad defective wheel bearings, some of the balls were cracked causing the ticking noise. Good luck, you own me a case of beer.
