semi erratic idle and hard starts at times

I have a 96 Dodge Dakota Sport with a 3.9 V6 5
speed I put a new idle air control valve on because
it had hard starts and high idle didn't change
anything now it wont idle back down at all used to
it would idle down

Did you also clean the throttle body ? And also check for a vacuum leak. Check and replace air filter if necessary add fuel injector cleaner to gas tank.

Iv done all that also did plugs wires cap rotor ect.still having the issue and it's not throwing any codes either
