car won't stay in gear

car will go into gear when first started but will not change after running for a few minutes.
motor will rev high and finally catch but whines while it is. won't stay in gear for very long.
1997 dodge stratus just under 150K miles

trust its a tranny shift sensor...dodge are known for this problem...plz people dont post help if u dont know what u talking about!no s... its a tranny problem tom!
