Timing chains usually last as long as the engine does so there is no maintenance schedule for it. Problems can occur if a chain guide or hydraulic tensioner go bad.

That Honda engine, I think it's a K, doesn't have many problems, but can, like any good engine, have timing chain issues when you hit a couple-hundred-thousand miles or so. Yes, chains are designed to outlast engines, but they can stretch over time, or have the guides and tensioners wear out. Sprockets can also wear and cause chains to jump time. If you have a problem, they make a kit for this. It's a new chain with all the parts you need to get another quarter-million miles.

If you have lots and lots of miles on the vehicle the timing chain could be worn. Like 250,000 or more. Hope that helps! Jim
