97 dodge dakota slt v6. Dies at low rpm,
backfires sometimes, also hard to start.
New starter, new battery , new o2 sensor,
new plugs , wires,  rotor , and new distributor
cap.

Check the timing chain. It sounds like it is either stretched or has skipped a tooth. Make sure the coils on all the plugs are good.
