Hey, my 97 dodge dakota 3.9L v6 magnum starting sputtering and wouldn't go over 25-30 mph. The same day it started doing that I had the Trans filter replaced and catylatic converter cleaned out.

Since you had some other work done, you might want to check and confirm spark wires are all well attached, or if a wire got burnt or damaged.

The check engine light is on and I got it scanned and it said the o2 sensor was bad but I'm not sure if a o2 sensor will cause the truck to do that.

Ah... yes! You neglected to mention that, and yes, a bad O2 sensor can definitely cause the engine to run bad. You might also want to confirm that your cam or crank timing sensors are not bad.

I got it scanned this morning only the o2 sensor popped up. But thank you for the information.
