Where is located the thermostact?

between the engine and the radiator- there should be a coolant hose going to it- your car is a 2013 and there should be nothing wrong with your thermo- and is the car under warranty?

60 month - 5 year ... 60,000 drive train warranty, so unless you drive long distances and have racked up over 60k, the t-stat is part of drive train, being an engine part. Nothing I can can add to jam's post, agree the the t-stat would be exceedingly rare to fail in 2-3 years. If I may ask, what's going on? I study Toyotas and Corolla in particular, and am interested. Thanks. ~David

Nothing exotic about the location, just like most cars, just as Jam said. Upper radiator hose on outlet from engine is housing
