Hi Kelly. I don't know much about ALL cars but Corollas I do. I have studied up on them and participate in the Toyota web-site owners Q&A . I really suck at trying to draw with a mouse but I think it got my intent. And it does not go off with an oil change, must be turned off manually. It counts miles, running time and engine revolutions, so it may light up sooner than 5000 miles with a lot of idling and no highway driving

Did you buy the car new, and if not has it been 3 years or 36,000 miles yet? If it is under 3 years from date of sale, whether you bought it new or not it's still under a Full bumper-to bumper warranty. But Toyota does not count A/C as part of drive-train and the 5 year 60,000 mile warranty
