Flashers flash differently right side vs left side

Question type: General

Since I purchased my 1998 Dodge Dakota, I noticed that the right side blinker flashes slower (normal) and the left side flashes very fast.

Why or how can they be different?  There is only one flasher unit.

If one bulb draws more power than the other one it can change the flash rate. I would check the bulbs to see if one is different.

Okay, thanks. So far, I did find the front bulbs were different, and when I tried to make them the same, the left side would not work at all. I will look at the rear lights next.

Clean the light bulb connections and the light bulb socket while you are at it.

Okay, thanks... As I'm sure you know, accessing the front parking and blinker lights are a huge job. I recently pulled them entire housings out and replaced them, which is when I found the bulbs were different. They both have 3157 on them, but they look much different. One is made by Sylvania, and the other by Wagner.

That should not make any difference in how fast the bulbs flash. Usually if one side flashes faster than the other, there is a bulb out on that side.
