how to diagnose my a/c problem?

Asked by Dave May 14, 2012 at 12:57 PM about the 1998 Dodge Dakota SLT Club Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

theres no a/c the a/c clutch pulley is engaging and the pressure in the a/c system is normal indicating theres no leak so is it more likely something is wrong with the compressor itself or would it be beneficial to evacuate the the system and recharge it?

Does the low pressure line get cold? If so are the damper doors directing air to the AC outlets? What is the temp. of the discharge air? It takes a lot of questions to get a logical answer.
