98 Dodge Avenger battery light won't turn off

Asked by mycarishell Aug 17, 2015 at 02:42 PM about the 1998 Dodge Avenger ES FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just (like 2 days ago) replaced my alternator, battery, and cables/terminals. My
battery light turned off and now it is back on and won't turn off.

Like a week ago, my car shut off when I was at a red light and wouldn't start. My friend
jumped it and it made it home. then it shut off again the next day. So, we replaced the
alternator, battery, and cables/terminals. I'm beyond pissed with this car at this point.
Please any help will be grateful.

Some cars have a separate regulator and if your mechanic failed to change that then you may have trashed a good alternator instead of replacing what may have been the problem
