The trunk can be opened from the inside. You have to remove the back seat and try to crawl inside trunk. There is a manual release in the trunk lid, in case some one gets trapped inside, pull it and the lid should open.

I don't think that was the final answer you were looking for, since you don't want to do that every time you need your trunk. Have you checked your fuses?

I know exactly what it is. It’s the wires that supply power to the latch. Get your trunk open and look inside to the right where the trunk hinges to the car. Follow the wires from the trunk latch and right by the hinge area the wires will be chewed up. This is happening to this model. Repairing the wires seems easy, although I haven’t tried yet. You can search for videos on the internet. Thanks!

My son just fixed this and it was an easy one. It is the wire on the right side. A little electrical tape is all it took!! Thanks GuruSPMTD for the lead in!

Don't give up. It will be OK. Get a multi-meter. You only need a very basic one with which to test the wire.
