Looks like it has a timing belt. I would get it serviced as soon as you can.

The FB25B is a DOHC engine with timing Chain.

F.O.R. that sight....I am not getting anywhere with it. Looking up parts for the 2013 Subaru Forester 2.5L engine only shows a timing belt.

I do not see anywhere that it says it has a timing chain. This engine is a 2.5L X that has a timing belt.

I have been told by a mechanic. If the cover over the timeing area is plastic then you have a timing belt. If the cover over the timeing area is metal then you have a timing chain.
