1999 dodge dakota rt having the same problem again but now im kinda getting somewhere. Now when it doesnt start but turns all i need to do is take the thottle body off spray sprat starter fluid and it catches and starts. Now it will be good for a week maybe more and it will happen again. Could it be the oxygen sensor? Or the fuel pressure? I havent checked them yet. U guys have any ideal. Thank you your help and sugguest.
These are what i replaced n checked
Pcm, ips, battery, sparks plug,
cleaned out the fuel injectors, fuel
Won't be O2 sensor, that doesn't come into play until the car hits normal operating temperature. The fact that it fires on starter fluid means that there is a fuel issue. You may want to check the coolant temperature sensor for the injection system as well as the fuel pressure seeing as both have impact on your mixture.
I agree that it is or seems to be a fuel issue. The pump pressurizes to around 60psi which is regulated to around 45 psi when the engine is running and a vacuum signal is present.
