2013 focus head gasket

I have a 2013 focus SE ffv . I got a raccoon busted
radiator ,car got hot fast! Local shop wants 1700$
to fix. Is this something shade tree mechanics can
do?

If you have to ask it may be too difficult, especially if you don't have the correct tools and some experience. You will need to pull the head and have it tested for leaks and warp and probably machined flat again. You also have to install the head and torque it properly and get the cam timing correct. Get a good repair manual if you decide to do it yourself.
