Journey will not crank

Asked by Patricia Oct 04, 2018 at 09:33 PM about the 2013 Dodge Journey American Value Package FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2013 Dodge journey will not crank. We have put
new battery on it and it still didn't fix it. The car will
crank one minute then an hour later it will not. And
it shows battery has drained setting there. At times
it does not detect key fob until I try to crank several
times then it detects it. Got it cracked the other day
and it said key fob exited vehicle. We have tried
everything we know. Does anyone have any other
options?

It would take a huge drain to pull a battery down in an hour as a matter of fact a drain that big would probably get something hot enough to cause a fire. If you purchased a good quality battery I would suspect the starter or ignition switch with starter being first
