2013 Dodge Journey will not start

father has a 2013 Dodge Journey. Car would not start, car sat for a cold winter



and battery was completely dead . I replaced battery with fully charged new



one. car will not start on its own but will start if jump started . Runs great after



taking jumpers off . but if you let sit for five for a few minutes and try to start it



will not start on its own .any ideas what it could be

Sounds like you got a bad battery, it is new then take it back.

The car may not start even if the battery is brought from the time of death to the time of charging. because other devices have to provide electricity . for the example when the required amount of electricity is not received by the injectors thought the ECU box, it will lose its functionality. take for example relays. the other things is that even if it is started by a jumper , the alternator will become magnetic after some time and start charging the battery . you must use a high amp passing jumper cable to start the vehicle
