Check engine light on

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Check engine light keeps coming on. Code is P0174 (Fuel System Too Lean
(Bank 2)). I have taken car to three different mechanic. All three tested for
vacuum leaks and came up with none. One told me it was an O2 sensor that
I had to replace which I did. Code came back one three days later. However
no mechanic can figure out what is causing issue. They keep telling me that
there is a long list of things that could be wrong with it. They suggest starting
with the least expensive thing and fix it to see if that worked. If not then fix
the next thing and so on.
Anyone have the same problem????
I can't afford to keep fixing every little thing

To be honest I am not sure that they looked at as far as the type of lean condition. I just ordered a code reader for myself just to have it on hand cause everytime I take it to the mechanic they want to charge me to look at it (I even tried to have my guy friend bring it in to see if they were trying to pull one over on me since I am a female, however they told him the same thing that we need to fix one thing at a time to find the problem). I have looked up the code and there is talk about mass airflow sensor issue. I am not sure what to do now.

I was going to say something was strange because I was getting notified of a comment but could only read part of it in my email. so when I get the code reader I should check the maf reading to see what it says. what if that reading comes back fine? Any other suggestions?

The last reading code one mechanic said was P0174, then he added bank 2 (so to be honest I am not sure if it was just P0174 or if it also said bank 2). I have noticed recently that it feels like when you are driving it gives a little kick back (if that makes any sense). Not all the time though. Also when stopped at a stop light it sometimes feels like it might stall or hesitate (again doesn't do this all the time)

I got my car reader. Original code is not coming up. Now it says p0153 (that reading was with car ignition on only)

The o2 sensor in the front (the one as soon as u open the hood) was changed with brand new sensor about 2 months ago

"Also when stopped at a stop light it sometimes feels like it might stall or hesitate (again doesn't do this all the time)" Mine was also doing this. Check engine light on and code P00016 (Cam position sensor). Scheduled to take tp my mechanic to get it fixed (Sunday). Then, on Friday, it died. Had it towed. Now, he tells me that it is has several cracked rocker arms. Since August (coincidentally, JUST AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED), I have had to replace Cam position sensors, timing chain replaced and now this. (Will end up costing me over $4,000 with towing and repairs). I have heard this has been a common problem that GM is WELL AWARE of yet won't fix or cover. My engine has under 80,000 miles on it and I have had regular maintenance on it. This should not be an issue. I hsve heard about a class action law suit related to this, but haven't heard any updates recenty.
