2013 Chrysler 200 Convertible hard top. The top seems to operate perfectly
going up and down. When it is in the up position displays top secure, but when
lowering the top message top not secure and the trunk won't open. It seems to

Hello Ed92626, I can not find procedures for top alignment anywhere. I guess it must be sensor, but no idea how to find out which one. Any ideas?

This happened to my car and it was a 5 minute fix. The knob that controls the latches was stuck. Take the upper panel behind the mirrors off. There is a "star" knob in the middle. Turn it to the right until it clicks. It will restart the closing cycle and everything will work fine.

I just picked my 2011 Chrysler 200 Limited convertible up from the dealer today with this same issue. Everything functioned, but "top not secure" error message came up and I was not able to open the trunk with the fob or the release inside the car, but I could open it with the key. Last week I had the electrical harness replaced in the deck lid. They went over every connector, made sure they were all secure, and the issue is resolved. So, it may be a connector within the electrical trunk harness network or the harness itself. I had it replaced to begin with because the top stopped closing!

I found that the micro switch that detects the presence of the springy thing on the pull down protection panel has a high resistance reading of 1000 ohms or so. I bypassed the switch and just tied the wires together. It worked fine! You just have to remember to position the panel before starting the drop top procedure because if there is stuff in the way of the top it will cause some serious damage to the mechanism..

Just fixed mine , most top issues with most convertibles is the oil in the hydraulic system, in a 200 it is in the trunk slightly to the left . Remove the panel in the trunk , may you need to remove 2 screws. You would need an Allen wrench for the hydraulic tilt it up and pour the oil . You would need to buy the oil of course. It was about 50 dollars
