Where is my thermostat on my 2001 Dodge Dakota?

Asked by rnbghr3 May 02, 2017 at 08:26 AM about the 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport Club Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm a widow and just had a new radiator and hoses put in my truck. Afterwards
a friend told me that it is imperative to change out the thermostat also. Is this
correct? By reading where it is and I may have to take AC parts off this is not
something this old girl can do. Please advise if it is necessary. Thank you.

If your not having a problem with the engine overheating, and the engine gets to operating temperature, then there is no need to have the thermostat changed out.
