Radiator fan won't turn off

Asked by Thenarrator1999 Jun 21, 2018 at 07:30 PM about the 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hit something in the road the other day and broke the drivers side of the active
grill shutters completely off. Now every time I start the car, after about 3 or 4
minutes the radiator fan starts up hot and heavy and will not shut down until I
turn the car off. Any ideas?

Check the cooling fan relay and circuit.

Most cars have a safety interlock in which when the fan switch is unplugged the radiator fan will run just as youve described. If the wire is broken it the computer will think it's unplugged

Did you get this issue solved? My husband hit a raccoon and the same thing is happening. It knocked out the washer pump too. Stupid trash panda

Hey, did you fix the fan? I have the same issue, it’s on all the time! Any idea ?
