A/C quit working after turning heat on one morning

turned heat on one morning and at lunch when day warmed, i switched to A/c
but the air does not cool.  what could it be?

    Back lights work, high beams work, back brake lights work. Just not both head lights. They were fine and then both not work. If it is the bulbs. Is it hard to replace and expensive on this model car.
