my ac is blowing hot air and my battery light is on it screeched when i started it but ac was already blowing hot

my ac suddenly started blowing hot air i cut of for 5min and turned back on it cooled off
for little while then started blowing hot air again and i turned off ac and motor 10 min
started it when i turn key it made screeching noise like a belt and battery light stayed on
all way home battery is only 3mo old. 2002 dodge stratos sedan

loose belt- go get a belt job- or better yet get somethin' better than an old stratus-
