2013 Ford Edge fuel remaining?

Question type: General

When resently purchased my 2013 Ford
Edge, the first 5 or 6 fill ups showed that I
had between 600-700 kms of fuel
remaining. On my way home from a long
trip I ended up driving for about 30 kms
with it saying 0 kms remaining due to poor
planning and no gas station.
Now when I fuel up, it only reads 500 kms
until empty.
Could I have messed things up with
running so low of fuel?
No issues other then my range seems way
less.
