Youve got the brake pedal depressed? Is the ebrake engaged? Is the car on?

Probably a problem with the shift interlock system. A wire usually breaks or a bad connection to the interlock solenoid, or a problem with the brake light switch as it is connected to the system. It just needs to be looked at to determine the problem.
