2012 subaru heater won't blow hot air

Asked by rlkendall Dec 13, 2021 at 05:49 PM about the 2012 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Heater fan works but no heat. Started smoking from under the hood. I looked
and believe the guys who did the "oil change" didn't put the coolant cap back
on from 3 weeks ago. I filled it back up but still no heat and several of the
check lights are blinking.

Sounds like a massive air pocket in the cooling system. The warning lights are very concerning. Hope the engine is not damaged from low coolant. Don't mess around with this get it checked ASAP with your favorite shop.
