when and how is the best way to get a great deal on a new pickup?

I'd try the end of year clearance sale. If you have another vehicle in mind you might see who gives you the best deal. Some commission salespeople will give you a little better price if the want to make an additional sale say for a contest, etc.

I've always purchased new vehicles right after the new models come out. My 2010 F-150 was purchased right after the 2011's were trucked in. Same for a relative's 2012, the 2013's were on the showroom floor. Also make the investment in a new car/truck buying guide which lists all the different options available and their costs. Don't go in blind.

oj you definitely would get the best deal, especially if the dealer would bring them in from longer distances if they didn't have the model features you wanted.
