Strong hesitation when I tried to accelerate to a higher speed

Asked by Fordguy2012 Jul 02, 2018 at 01:54 PM about the 2012 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a Ford F150 XLT superb with ecoboost. The truck accelerates smoothly
to higher speeds, when shifting at normal speeds. However, when I punch the
gas, the truck strongly hesitates and the engine lights goes on.I have had the
spark plugs changed, cylinders chambers check and no deposits, Has anyone
experienced this problem? My mechanic who is a ford guy did all the tests and
still couldn't find the problem.

You may have to hook up a scan tool and go for a drive, and make the light come on again and see what code it is. It could be a dirty throttle body, dirty injectors, or bad throttle position sensor.
