reverse

i have a 2002 dodge dakota that when i
put it in reverse it moves back in idle
but as soon as i hit the gas the engine
just races and the reverse dosnt
work.any help would be  appreciated

Check the fluid level first. That is probably not the problem though. If it is slipping in reverse, you likely need the transmission rebuild. The clutches are worn our.
