when idling slow or stopped or in reverse my car makes a rattling noise. what's the cause?

Could be from the exhaust heat shields coming loose. Bring it into a Meineke and let them have a look, but what ever you do don't remove them as this will increase the amount of heat into the car and if you park over grass cause a fire. The exhaust is very hot and needs the shield to prevent objects touching it.
