Electronic door locks

Asked by Chandler Apr 06, 2018 at 01:22 AM about the 2012 Nissan Frontier SV V6 Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: General

Just recently bought the truck and I work out of town. I
have always disconnected the negative side of the battery
before leaving for work on my previous vehicle. Never had
a problem getting in because the vehicle had manual
locks. My question is does a 2012 Frontier have a manual
door lock or is it electronic? With the battery unhooked
will I still be able to get into it without breaking in? Didn’t
think about checking it before I left for work and I’ve
already disconnected and locked the doors.

you still have at least one door with a key lock I hope,, how about one that the battery goes dead while parked a few days ,though connected ,same thing

The driver door has a key entry. But I’ve been told on mid 2000s and up Nissan has put electronic door locks so there is not manual entry without some power from the battery. My battery is unhooked.

you'll have to hang a wire from the neg. post to touch to the car body to fire up some b+ from now on ! along with setting all the resets and the 150 mile relearn of the pcm bcm tcm and all the other silly gadgets glued thru out the apparatus !
