Low beams stopped working on 07 Tribeca

Asked by lipripper Dec 30, 2015 at 11:38 AM about the 2008 Subaru Tribeca Limited 7-Passenger with Navi and DVD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Everything works but low beams. Checked all H/L fuses in interior and engine
areas except large fuses in engine area. I didnt just want to yank them out and
break them so ideas for removing them or are they tough enough to extract
physically. what else can i check? Some skills but no mechanic.
Thanks for any help.

You did not state which model of Tribeca. My 2010 Touring model has HID low beams and at 55k miles one went out. Replaced $180 bulb and still out. Replaced $380 ballast and that was it. Does yours have HID or without HID. Check owners manual or window listing.

Subie low beams only last a couple of years, and routinely disappear in pairs, which seems surprising, I know. So before you tear your hair out buy a couple of spare bulbs and pop 'em in...STRAIGHT!...too many folks don't align 'em and they aim cockeyed. Be safe tonight. Ern

TheSubaruGuruBoston. Is what you said also true for Subaru HID bulbs? What about HID ballasts? Thanks.
