Low oil pressure after engine reaches running temperature.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My daughter has a 2012 GMC Denali, and the oil
pressure started dropping. So we replaced the
sensor and pulled out the screen and cleaned it
and replaced it. Vehicle had good pressure for a
little while, then dropped off.  We then replaced the
oil pump, and had around 40 psi, until it got to
operating temperature, then the idiots light came
on. I don't hear any unusual engine noises.  Should
I pull the sensor and throw away the screen and try
again.  P.S. I did fill the oil filter full of oil, and prime
the pump.  Any suggestions?

Change the sensor or use a mechanical pressure gauge to verify the actual oil pressure.
