No Crank issue with new battery

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just put a new battery in and the vehicle will not crank. The lights on the dash/console come on, I have power. The vehicle will not crank. Is there a reset code/procedure I need to do after installing a new battery?

Will it start with a jump? If so, its the battery or the wiring between the battery and the starter (including all connections - even at the starter). If it will not start but will crank with a jump, then look for other problems like fuel delivery or spark. If it will not crank, deeper analysis is needed. Reply with what you find, please.

I have let it set for 8 hours. I have no brake lights with key on and pedal pressed. I tried to check fuse in passenger compartment, but cant get to it. I have lights on keypad, so it sounds like the fuse is not blown.

Did you try to jump start the car as I mentioned earlier? Letting it sit will do nothing and all your light tests will not tell you if the battery is strong enough to turn the engine over.

My car won't start from the inside but if I go up under the hood and start it with the starter it starts but it won't catch over
