car will not fire

Asked by Paul Jan 13, 2017 at 05:01 PM about the 2001 Audi TT 1.8T 180hp Coupe FWD

Question type: General

I have an Audi TT 2001 model, non quattro. The battery ran flat due to a
light being left on. I recharged the battery with a trickle charger and it is
now fully charged but when I try to start the car it turns over strongly but
dies immediately.
It has fuel. Not sure if this means anything but ther warning light for the
side lights is permanently flashing

That sounds logical thank you. Can you advise how to overcome the problem please?

I would talk to your dealer. Security systems are tough these days. Try reading your owners manual to see if it covers such a situation.

OK thank you. My owners manual is in Spanish so not much help but will contact dealer.

You may be able to find an English version online.
