Do NOT put E85 in ANY gasoline engine, no matter what the cap/vehicle says it can handle. It is literally watered down gasoline. U will get less gas mileage and eventually cause fuel system issues. Yes its cheaper, but those fee cents are not the risk. Run normal 87 octane gas.

Agree. Just put regular 87 octane and you will have no regrets later.

the fuel you buy probably has 10% ethanol anyway , why they did this makes no sense

I just bought a 2015 grand Cherokee. Fuel door says E85. The wife put in regular. Now the check engine light is on. Scanner says gas cap but it is a capless. Thoughts?

Chuck is a fool. Do your research e85 is NOT watered down gas. It is a ethanol based fuel. That mean higher octane and cleaner burning.

Chuck- e85 isnt watered down big dummy, E85 gains you HP at the lose of MPG. It won’t mess with your fuel lines if it was design for it. Now go cry a river mpg cry baby. I run e85 on my 2017 camaro ss its flex fuel.

Your car is flex tuned from factory, e85 has a lower knock range, lower vapor (for turbskies), burns cleaner and cooler then petrol leading to big hp and torque increases due to extra fuel from your high octane map being able to be sent to your injectors. E85 isn't watered down, it is rated at 105 octane. it's the poor mans/daily C85

I would say if it states it on back of vehicle... mine does... just bought a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited w/flex fuel

E85 does not gain HP unless you have high compression blown motor. It is a GUARANTEE of lower gas mileage. In street cars it may actually lose a small amount of HP because the engine compression ratio is much too low to fully take advantage of the the high octane (but low energy) fuel.

I have 2016 GC with 5.7 I use 50% E85 I fill up every other time with E85 when I have half of tank. It work great no over heating or no performance loss to speak of. I am not off roading or drag racing, just daily driving.
