Air in fuel line

Asked by GuruT254B Jul 16, 2018 at 04:48 AM about the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have read a lot about this online, but no-one seems to have an answer....just
a problem. There seems to be air trapped in the fuel line and it makes a really
loud high pitched whine. It’s not consistent and the vibration stops if you put
your hand on the fuel line at the top of the motor. Hoping you might have a
definitive answer, thanks

I am not really familiar with this particular engine but I know Diesels. Diesel engines use a 2000 PSI fuel injector system that would hum or whine while operating. Just like high pressure hydraulic lines on heavy equipment. Not much you can do but pad and zip tie the lines so as to not vibrate so much. Also, turbos whine and whistle a lot. A diesel Jeep is not a real common vehicle but maybe on a Jeep forum you could get or find an answer.
