2012 jeep grand cherokee

I have a 2012 grand cherokee limited  3.6.  Noticed
there has been a hesitation when taking off or
losing power while going up a hill. Today I was
driving and my traction light came on and my
service  4wd  and my rpms went extremely high.
Pulled over shut the jeep off...waited a few
seconds turned  back on and still had hesitation
but no lights.  What could be causing this?

Have the codes read,most auto part stores will do it at no charge.

Yes, we plan on having that done. Just was wondering if anyone had this issue and what I'm looking at repair wise.

Hi Heather, did you ever find out what was wrong with your Jeep. Mine just started doing the exact same thing, with the same service 4WD warning.
