Fuel pump is going out and overheating

I my neon has a fuel pump going out,can it
cause the engine to overheat?

No, the fuel pump is in the fuel tank. If the eying is not getting enough fuel, it simply will not run. Overheating is caused by other things, such as low coolant due to leaks, A faulty water pump, fan not running, a stuck shut thermostat or head gasket. But if the car is overheating, the engine will not run correctly and that is why maybe you suspect it is fuel?
