Reduce engine power

Asked by David May 04, 2020 at 05:59 PM about the 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LS XFE Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just replaced the knock sensor and my 02 upstream
sensor. Car still will not start. Threw a p1682 code and now
saying I need to replace the downstream sensor as well.
Could the p1682 code be my ignition switch?

When you get tired of throwing parts at it and wasting your money take it to the dealership for a proper diagnosis and repair.

Yea ya know bob I'd rather fo Ix it myself like a real man and not get screwed over by the dealership. I've worked at a few and I've seen the shady shit that goes on but hey man thanks for the help bud.

The only think sillier than letting a shop screw you over is screwing yourself over. Go back through the wiring and make sure all connections are tight and corrosion free. Make sure all your ground points are tight and clean. If none of that helps then take it to a shop for a proper diagnosis. And no, its not your ignition switch. You're trying to fix a reduced power situation, right?
