Pulley and Belt

Asked by Greg May 06, 2018 at 04:41 PM about the 2012 MINI Countryman S FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The belt shredded off. I noticed
the crankshaft seal was leaking. I
changed the front seal put the
crankshaft pulley back on then
proceeded to put the belt back on.
It was to tight of a fit against the
friction pulley. I took the
crankshaft pulley back off put the
belt on the pulley then put the
pulley back on. Car ran for 20
minutes then belt started to shred
again. Please help!

1 Answer

Look for a pulley that is out of place or something that is rubbing on the belt.
