Replaced battery. now gas gauge wont register. 2002 GMC Sonoma.

Pulled battery to replace Battery acid.  replaced battery , on startup both Oil Pressure gauge and  fuel quanity pegged all the way to the right, pointing to between 4 and 5 on clock face.  Oil Pressure returned to normal,  Fuel Quantity still  pointing right.

A gauge doing that indicates an open circuit. Could be an ignition switch, fuel sender wiring or sender ground, the sender itself. However as you had another gauge do the same thing better be looking at all the vehicle’s grounds, you may have something much deeper happening.
