My car runs great haven't had any issues except a short with my trunk light about two years ago. I had dealer install a brand new Varta battery exactly one year ago since the previous one was 4 years old. The other day I drove around all day then parked my car for the night and in the am it wouldn't start the battery was completely dead. We put a battery charger on it over night but it did nothing. Then my husband jump started it with his truck for 15 minutes and it's fine. I'm know I left nothing on so what drained the battery so completely the night before? Possibly trunk light? How would I check that?

it could be a short it could be dirty battery terminals, it could have been a belt sliping on the alternator all day. There is lots of factors that can play a part. Try checking for lights before you leave the car.open the back seat and watch to make sure the trunk light is out. anything after that i would likely have the battery tested. Its not an uncomman thing for a battery to go bad. bad parts, sitting on a shelf , poor acid alot of things can factor into that end of the battery as well.

I have a 2015 VW Passat and I'm having serious issues with the battery being drained. I took it to VW dealership in my vicinity, and supposedly and VW expert work on my car for a month and a half. Unfortunately, there was no resolution. I was told it was battery; I informed the representative that my batter was one week old. Then they said it was Body Control Module (BCM) which I purchased and the problem still existed and I then informed it was the radio. At the present moment, the radio has been removed and the problem still exists. Not to mention I'm out of $1400 dollars from the added parts. Can you please assist where the issue may lay? Thanks!
