My husband says driving on one underinflated tire for 70 miles can ruin his truck. Possible?

Asked by Rockin48Rob Mar 28, 2015 at 06:05 PM about the 2005 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

He says right front tire was only at 26 lbs of pressure, and the rest were at 45 lbs. I drove
it to Daytona Beach and back on I-4, with no problems steering or pulling. He insists that
it has been pulling right ever since, and that I probably ruined the wheel bearings. is that
possible? or is he just being a jerk?

Honestly It could ruin the sidewalls on the tire if the tire is bulging to the side and cause uneven wear on the tire tread itself and it still had 26 lbs. so it is not like the tire was flat. If the 4x4 was engaged it would be harder on the front differential. I doubt the wheel bearings are affected unless there is no grease in them or they are getting hot.

Proper tire inflationis 32 lbs.. you have three at 45psi and one at 26. Whsts up with that.bring them all to 32.keep driving.by the way have someone check you oil leavel.and you need gas you are low.some things dont change
